We’re so glad you’re here.
Dwelden is the shared project of husband-and-wife team Ben Grace and Alex Tailor.
Two Designers
Alex and Ben met in Rhode Island: Alex was at RISD, and Ben was running his first design studio.
In 2020, they moved to California to build their lives and creative practice together. After a few years of working in LA, Ben and Alex longed for a slower pace and deeper connection to nature. This led them to Ojai, and eventually, to creating Dwelden in 2025.
Ben brings an architecture background and years of corporate events experience, with a keen grasp on material and modularity. Alex’s graphic design background helps shape ideas and nurture community through intentional design.
Together they are Dwelden: an ongoing study for living, gathering, and feeling at home.
Why Lamps
We think a lamp should do more than light a corner. It should improve the way we experience space. Where most lighting is either pretty to look at or purely practical, we wanted both.
The right glow can take the edge off a long day, make a room feel alive, or help us focus on an important task.
So, we design lamps shaped by nature and built for hands-on assembly. Good design should shift your state of mind, not just your décor.
What's Next
Lamps are just the beginning.
We’ve set our sights on exploring modular furniture that flexes with your space, thoughtful home gadgets that make life smoother, and collaborations with artists who inspire us to see things differently.
Dwelden is an invitation to stay curious, touch grass, and see home with a fresh perspective.
